The Middle School Book Club consists of two different meetings.
The first meeting is school-based and is organized by the GT Resource Teacher. The session meets once a month, generally a day before meeting at The Miller Branch Library to discuss the book for the month. This school-based session is open to any sixth, seventh, and eighth grade student. Students who are interested in joining this seminar were required to pick up an application and complete a written response by September 11, 2014.
The second meeting is countywide. Once a month, students from around the county will meet at The Miller Branch Library to have in-depth discussions about the month's reading selection. Each middle school reads the same literary selection every month. Each month, two to three schools are responsible for leading the discussion at the countywide meeting. The sessions are one hour from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Parents are encouraged to explore the library, but the book club discussion room is exclusively for students.
